What we believe
We believe, out of His unconditional love for us, God has initiated a relationship with us through His Son Jesus Christ. We express this relationship through baptism, the Lord’s Supper, worship, fellowship, ministry and Bible study. We believe that God gave us the Bible to reveal who He is. The Bible is worthy of our study and contains God-given instructions to enable us to have fulfilled lives and to live the life God planned for us.
We also believe that we all have equal access to God and an equal say in the church. We believe the church is a gathering of persons who want to grow in their relationship with God and to assist and be assisted by others.
The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship is a fellowship of Baptist Christians and churches who share a passion for the Great Commission of Jesus Christ and a commitment to Baptist principles of faith and practice. Our mission is to serve Christians and churches as they discover and fulfill their God-given mission.
Made up of individuals and approximately 1,800 affiliated churches seeking to be the presence of Christ, the Fellowship serves a larger renewal movement among Baptists. Partnering with 15 theological schools, 18 autonomous state and regional organizations and more than 150 ministry organizations worldwide, CBF is based in Decatur, GA.
Our Purpose Statement
Intentionally telling people about Jesus and inviting them to become members of His family, encouraging each other in our spiritual progress, so that together we may effectively minister locally and worldwide, glorifying God’s holy name.
The fact that Jesus died for our sin, was buried, and then rose from the grave is foundational for Baptists. He lives today and stands ready to give abundant and eternal life to all those who repent of sin and place their faith in Him. God has chosen to use us to invite everyone to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
